Jeffrey A. Fink, M.D.

Jeffrey A. Fink, M.D.

Jeffrey A. Fink graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and a medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Rochester, a plastic surgery residency at Yale University, and an orthopedic hand fellowship at Brown University. Dr. Fink is board certified in hand surgery and plastic surgery and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Fink specializes in surgery of the hand and upper extremities. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and is Director of the Rochester Hand Center. (Back To Top)

David H. Refermat, M.D., F.A.C.S.

David H. Refermat, M.D., F.A.C.S

David H. Refermat, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a Rochester native and a graduate of Pittsford Sutherland High School. He is a cum laude graduate of Williams College and earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester. After his surgical internship he served in the U.S. Navy throughout the Pacific Rim as a battalion surgeon with the Marine Corps 3rd Marine Division and at the Navy’s S.E.R.E. school in Coronado, California. Dr. Refermat earned multiple commendations for his service and achieved the rank of Commander in the Navy Medical Corps. He then returned to the University of Rochester to complete his general and plastic surgery training. At Yale University, he subsequently completed a fellowship in hand surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, and microsurgery.

Dr. Refermat practiced for 8 years at Baystate Medical Center, a 716 bed academic medical center and tertiary care hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he was as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine. In 2011, he was named Chief of Plastic Surgery at Baystate. Dr. Refermat is board certified in plastic surgery and holds a certificate in undersea and hyperbaric medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery and hand surgery. (Back To Top)

Andrew W. Smith, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Andrew W. Smith, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Andrew W. Smith earned his Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College and his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed the combined plastic surgery residency at the University of Rochester. He subsequently completed a fellowship in microsurgery and oncologic reconstruction at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Smith is board certified in plastic surgery. He specializes in microsurgery, including reconstruction of complex wounds of the hand and upper extremity. (Back To Top)

Brian D. Kubiak, M.D.

Brian Kubiak earned his Bachelor of Science from St. John Fisher College and his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He then completed a general surgery residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY prior to completing a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Julie Sylvester, R.P.A-C

Julie Sylvester received her Bachelors of Science Degree as a Physician Assistant from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1999. She is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Julie completed a year of internal medicine at the Genesee Hospital in Rochester and a year of general surgery at Rochester General Hospital. She has been employed at The Plastic Surgery Group of Rochester/Rochester Hand Center since 2001. (Back To Top)
